I Have Seen Better Crowd Management at Songkran is one of those observations that persists because reality keeps volunteering fresh examples.

Some complaints are petty. Some are diagnostic. The trick is learning which is which before you waste an entire week pretending irritation has no informational value. Often it does. Annoyance is frequently a faster management dashboard than the management dashboard.

Humour is underrated in serious work. Not because the problems are funny, but because absurdity is sometimes the cleanest available description. There are days when the only intellectually honest response is to laugh first and analyse second.

Where this really lands

A huge water festival somehow produced less pointless aggression than certain supposedly managed environments. There were queues, yes, but also flow, tolerance and a general social willingness not to behave like a personal grievance machine.

This observation is unfair to airports only in the sense that it is true.

A good rant restores language. It lets ordinary people say: no, this is not normal, this is not necessary and this could in fact be much better if somebody stopped defending it out of habit.

That is not negativity. It is maintenance.

Pressure changes shape. The work remains.
